This single piece is elegant, versatile and compliments almost any body type. It hugs your body, sculpting it to accentuate your curves. If you don't have curves this dress will mysteriously grant you some.
The solid colour ones gives the illusion of a smaller waistline, while the patterned can disguise those little lumps and bumps.
One thing is for sure, whether solid or patterned, once paired with pumps and simple jewellery you instantly become one sexy biatch.
BUT........
I have a love hate relationship with this dress.
Our relationship took a turn for the worse, while walking out of the office building one evening after work. Those disrespectful winds that reside between the towers of the Waterfront violated me.
At 4:30pm, they attacked me, causing my dress to blow up. What made it worse and damn embarrassing was....the....fact....that on this particular day your girl decided to wear an underwear that did not cover her derriere.
The fight to keep that dress down, while being on the phone and having co-workers laugh at me was the longest 3 seconds everrrrrr. Despite the betrayal I still love wrap dresses. I am just more cognisant of the undergarments I use while wearing them tho. Yup..... I wear whole backside underwear or stockings now. No more bare bumsie for me.
Due to the design of this dress proper undergarments are a must!!!
The deep V neckline it gives has to always be adjusted as the dress loosens up throughout the day making you an unsuspecting flasher. To prevent this I use a small safety pin. This may not be such a quick fix for the well endowed ladies though. A friend of mine said she has to use body tape to fasten the neckline of the dress and most times layer it with a cardigan.
Another option would be to use a camisole (matching a colour within the dress of course). Check out how this lady is rocking it.
The wrap dress also makes crossing the street a difficult thing to do. You have to be constantly holding the side of the dress with your left hand to avoid leg flashing drivers and pedestrians, secure whatever item (s) are in your right hand and still try to look cute. It's a bit of a task to keep it together when wearing this dress but it still does not change my love for it.
If you refuse to go through this type of pulling and tugging relationship kudos to you. I am not strong enough to let go yet.
Here though a some options you can consider without having to deal with possible body exposure. These dresses give a wrap effect and does not entail tying one strap to the other.
